Is becoming a pharmacist a lot harder then a pharmacy technician?

i have trained at a chemist to become a pharmacist technician. But i am wanting to become a pharmacist. Is it a lot harder to become a pharmacist? ?? the difficulty ? and the workload ? anyone done this transition before ? i understand i need to go to uni for it. just would like people opinions
